<p>The objectives of the International scientific conference "TOURISM IN FUNCTION OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA – Тourism as a Generator of Employment", which will be held from the 30<sup>th</sup> May to the 1<sup>st</sup> June 2019 in Vrnjačka Banja, organized by the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja, University of Kragujevac, refer to the consideration of various tourism-related aspects and impact of tourism, as one of the world-leading industries, to the development of the countries. The basic idea is to systematize the effects of tourism on the economic, political, demographic, social development by one multidisciplinary approach.<br><br>Having in mind that the World Tourism Day 2019 will be marked under the title <em>Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all</em>, that travel and tourism sector in 2017 accounted for 9.9% of global employment (over 313 million jobs), that in the last decade one out of five jobs created worldwide is either directly or indirectly related to tourism, while nearly 100 million new tourism-related jobs could be created over the next decade, that reduction of unemployment rate is set as one of the key priorities of economic policy makers and governments around the world, the specific objective of the 4<sup>th</sup>International Scientific Conference is to consider the role and importance of tourism in generating new jobs, reducing the unemployment and increasing the living standard of the population of the Republic of Serbia and other countries.<br><br>In achieving aforementioned Conference objectives, we highly encourage contributions of tourismologists, economists, managers, lawyers, urban planners, sociologists, demographers, geographers, other eminent scientists from universities, institutes, colleges, including representatives of tourism organizations and local self-governments from Serbia and other countries. <p>Sustainable development represents a future based on long-term goals that respect economic, social, environmental and cultural values. The aim of this paper is to present the basic characteristics of tourism in the destination of the town of Šabac and to show the current connection with sustainable development and goals for the future. The main research question is: Does the city of Šabac as a tourist destination meet the conditions of sustainability in tourism? The research was conducted with the idea of analyzing how respondents see the city of Šabac in terms of sustainability (survey of 14 questions, answered by 200 respondents). <p>Environmental Accounting and Management Information Systems are gaining popularity among academics and practitioners. This research investigates the implementation of Environmental Accounting in the context of its performance in Management Information System. A survey analysis was carried out among directors and heads of accounting employees of hotel companies operating in Serbia, which served as a basis for the discussion about integrating „green“ information and providing guidelines for effective implementation. <p>The increasingly rapid environmental degradation, pollution, climate change, and biodiversity loss have led to the urgent need to address these issues. A response within linguistics is the emergence of ecolinguistics. Focused on fostering environmental awareness and sustainability, ecolinguistics has much to offer. It, however, still seems to be somewhat neglected. This paper sheds light on the current state of ecolinguistics, highlighting its appropriateness for addressing tourism-related texts. After discussing the main aspects of ecolinguistics, and a brief look at some relevant contributions, it ends with a small-scale qualitative analysis of eco-relevant terms in two government documents for defining the course of tourism development in Serbia. <p>This research was carried out at the Faculty of Hotel Management and Tourism in Vrnjačka Banja, Serbia, in which 56 respondents, the younger generation, who evaluated the combination of characteristic types of beer and biscuits, participated. Three beers were produced in the geographical area of the Republic of Serbia and were used: non-alcoholic beer, light beer, dark beer, while one type of beer was produced abroad: light beer. Also, four types of biscuits were used for the analysis: with a neutral taste, salty, sweet and spicy biscuits, all produced in Serbia. During the analysis, the participants had all the necessary conditions for the analysis (equipment, inventory, space, light, room temperature, etc.) and, with the help of a pre-prepared scale, evaluated the arrangement of beer and biscuits. <p>The subject of research in this paper is the application of the hybrid model railways and forests of health (RFH) as a new healthcare and tourism offering by Serbia. The model is a combination of the Finnish health forests project and the U.S.A. project from railways to trails for recreation. The goal of the paper is to prove the initial hypothesis according to which this hybrid model could be successfully applied as a new attractive element of the healthcare and tourism offerings. Comparative method, case study method, and document content analysis method were used in the work. The research results showed that the RFH model is suitable to support development of healthcare tourism in Serbia: first, to activate unused resources; then, to contribute to the preservation of the environment, that is, to add to the sustainable development; finally, to prevent chronical diseases in the population and contribute to the rehabilitation of those already ill.</p>Dragica Luković Jablanović

<p>Paid promotions have become less significant for modern travelers due to the high risk involved in the decision-making process. Instead, non-commercial and limitless Internet recommendations (electronic word of mouth - eWOM) are considered as crucial sources of information. Therefore, the subject of this paper is the eWOM recommendation system, with a particular emphasis on travel websites. Over 30% of Internet users have rated products and/or services at least once through the network. However, very little is known about what influences travelers to share their experiences, beyond their concern for others and desire for enjoyment/positive self-enhancement. To analyze the influence of travel website complexity (presence of text, ease of use, and updated content) on consumer behavior, Pearson's Correlation test is used. The analysis results indicate that attitude toward the travel website has a positive effect on the consumers' willingness to write a recommendation. Tourism stakeholders encourage destinations to support production, and travelers to buy local products. Local products can be ambassadors of visited areas, furthermore contributing to a more sustainable tourism sector. Concerns are also raised by stakeholders such as changing landscape in order to serve local product demand, or challenges of serving a great volume of visitors with small scale produced local products. Besides the overview of the theoretical background, the study presents the results of the primary research done at Lake Balaton (Hungary). Demand for local products among leisure travelers was mapped, differentiating food and non-food items. Respondents to the survey could furthermore indicate whether local products were bought for own use or as souvenirs for others. In line with previous studies, food items are dominating, two thirds of leisure travelers bought any food type local product. <p class="Apstrakt"><span lang="EN-US">The new concept for the development of entrepreneurship in tourism is linked to the transformation of traditional businesses into so-called „green enterprises,“ serving as drivers of economic development. </span><span lang="EN-US">The current conditions in the global environment indicate a multitude of challenges faced by enterprises in the tourism sector, stemming from the impacts of climate change, economic instability, and energy crises. Therefore, the focus of this research is directed toward examining the challenges and the possibilities for implementing „green policies“ that would contribute to the transformation into so-called green enterprises. In the practical part of the study, research on the measures of support and awareness regarding green policies in the operations of enterprises will be conducted through the implementation of a questionnaire method. The obtained results from the conducted research confirm the main hypothesis that there is a lack of support from the local community for implementing transformative changes contributing to sustainable development. The aim of the research was to analyze the relationship between the development of rural tourism and female rural entrepreneurship, as well as the characteristics of their entrepreneurial ventures. Qualitative research was conducted based on the application of a combined method - multiple case and biographical, with an emphasis on the attitudes of the interviewees. The results support the observed characteristics of lifestyle entrepreneurship, a strong family pattern in the value system of business, and a sense of „life and business“ in harmony with the environment and cultural values of the community. Modern business models are primarily digital marketing based and driven by technological development that facilitates communication. Due to the hyper-competitive market, the main issue remains to find the audience for presenting a product's value, which is the type of marketing that best suits the current habits of environmentally conscious tourists. This scientific study compared expert evaluations of ecotourism, sustainable tourism, and green tourism with user search interests on social media and search engines to improve marketing strategies for these environmentally conscious travel options. The research was conducted using worldwide data between 2021 and 2023. <p class="Apstrakt"><span lang="EN-US">The Mačva District, with its favorable geographical location, developed agriculture, rich history and tradition, has exceptionally favorable conditions for the development of rural tourism. By developing tourism in rural areas, the employment rate of rural populations increases, making rural tourism a driver of economic development which will raise the living standards in rural areas. There is a close connection between agriculture and rural tourism. Agricultural production is significant for tourism development while agriculture relies on consumers. The presence of tourism in rural areas provides opportunities for the development of various activities, the production of specific goods for tourism needs, and investment in infrastructure. In addition to its rich history, the Mačva District also boasts significant natural resources. Although the importance of the green aspects of tourist offer has been identified, there is a gap in the existing literature on the importance of eco-friendly features of a destination to the tourist satisfaction. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of experiential dimensions by eco-friendly features of a destination on tourist satisfaction. Using descriptive statistics and Pearson's correlation coefficient on a sample of 80 respondents, the results indicate that there is a statistically significant and positive relationship between tourist experience of eco-friendly destination product and satisfaction. <p class="Apstrakt"><span lang="EN-US" style="letter-spacing: -.2pt;">The aim of this transversal research was to examine the latent structure of the framework factors in their modification by climate changes in agricultural farms. The pertinent sample included (N = 178) farmers from Kolubara district. The average age of participants was 58.63 ± 6.02. The Questionnaire of limiting factors in adapting to climate change and business operations of agricultural farms was used in this research. Exploratory factor analysis was applied on the 12 manifest variables regarding the framework in adaptation to climate change. Using Promax rotation, with 57.68% of the total variance explained, four hypothetical basic latent dimensions were extracted and interpreted as: General external contributions, Irrigation, Finance and Material and human resources. The obtained total value of Cronbach’s α indicates the reliability of internal consistency type. The Republic of Serbia receives the most tourism inflows from the countries with the biggest tourists’ arrivals and overnight stays in the Republic of Serbia. However, a significant discrepancy between tourism inflows and outflows has a negative impact on the economic development of Serbia. Seasonality has a significant impact on the profitability of these destinations, even on sustainability, which is a decisive factor for the increasing number of visitors. The focus of the paper are the most notable Serbian spa centres, i.e. Vrnjačka Banja, Sokobanja, and Banja Koviljača. The Gini index and the Lorenz curve were used to assess the seasonality and imbalance in the monthly distribution of the number of tourists' overnight stays in the mentioned destinations for the period 2019-2023 influenced by COVID-19 virus pandemic.
