ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN TOURISM TRANSFORMATION: A SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK
Abstract
Technology and tourism are engaged in a reciprocal and dynamic relationship in which technological innovation not only transforms but also structurally shapes the sector. The rapid development of digital technologies, particularly Artificial intelligence (AI), has initiated a new phase in tourism characterized by smart systems and data-driven decision-making. AI enhances operational efficiency, automates repetitive tasks, optimizes resource allocation, and improves demand forecasting, reservation management, and customer communication. Its integration contributes to service personalization, increased competitiveness, and long-term sectoral development. This paper examines the global effects of AI on tourism, with a focus on its economic and developmental implications arising from the implementation of advanced technological innovations. The findings indicate that artificial intelligence significantly contributes to operational efficiency, service personalization, and sustainable tourism management, while simultaneously generating organizational and ethical challenges. Based on the literature analysis, the paper proposes a conceptual framework explaining the multidimensional role of AI in sustainable tourism transformation.
